Brian has been doing a lot more free-lancing lately, and becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of storage space and the general drabness of his office area. So for his birthday this year, my main gift to him was a re-design of his office space. I bought some shelves, candles, a rug and some cool office-like containers, and then made him stay in the other half of our house the night of his birthday so that I could put everything up for him. Also, as part of the gift I told him I would paint the walls of the office room, which were a stark white.
[before and after color]
He really liked the gift, but I still needed to buy the paint for the room. A little over a week ago I went to Home Depot and got the paint – we had decided on a couple of shades of brown – “Brown Teepee” and “Pepper Spice”. I spent just about every free minute last week taping and painting and moving furniture and taping and painting some more. Finally I finished, and began to clean up the incredible mess I had made. Now we get to enjoy the beauty of a great workspace and un-white walls! I also feel inspired to paint the rest of our incredibly white walls…
Anna’s Nest is the craft and tutorial website for me, Anna Warren. It’s also where I keep my blog. Enjoy!
Seriously, though? It looks great. I hadn’t really realized how stark white the walls were until now. Nice work. I look forward to sleeping in his office some more. (Sort of like I do at work.) — AJ Oct 1, 11:20 PM #
