Happy Birthday to Me!
Oh, yeah!
Monday was my Birthday. Monday was actually quite an average day. I worked. I actually worked late.
However, we had planned for the work thing, and so planned all of our festivities and merry-making for the day before! Hooray!
After church on Sunday we went home, did some unwrapping of gifts (which Brian had cleverly hidden around the house), and then went on a drive up to the mountains to see the Aspens changing. We actually just got up to the foothills and then had to turn back because of time constraints, but still saw some beautiful views. One of the most unexpected of these beautiful sights was the amazing colors and textures in the grasses.
We got back to Denver in perfect time to catch a showing of Corpse Bride at the movie theater. What a cool movie! It had an interesting story (not as morbid as it might appear), and I also liked it in a very geeky way – because it was “artsy”. The use of colors in the movie is really cool, and a statement in itself.
For dinner, we went to a little French restaurant that Brian went to a couple of times when he used to live in Denver – long ago before we were married – called Le Central. It was very quaint and French, and the food was quite tasty. I think we might need to add it to our “special dates” restaurant list!
So, as you can see, my birthday was quite wonderful. And, even though this week has, in general, gone by just as any other week, Brian has been especially kind and thoughtful to me, whom he has been calling his “Birthday Princess”. Ahhhh.
Nah, I’m just kidding. I do that on occasion. OK. ALL occasions.
That sounds like it was a really cool restaruant. Was Brian able to practice his francois at all at the restaurant or did he chicken out like I tend to do at the Mexican joints?
