Anna’s Nest

Sweet Softness

2008-03-15

This morning Brian is gone at a meeting, and Bridget and I are taking it easy. She had her 2-month checkup on Thursday, complete with immunizations, and although is mostly back to normal, she’s still a little clingy. Or maybe I’m the one that’s clingy – it’s quite likely. I certainly have embraced her “clinginess”.

I love her gentle breathing, the warmth of her body as she snuggles up to me, the delicate way her fingers move as they touch my chest or grasp my clothing. Peace
Moments like this make me want to freeze time – I can’t think of any other place I would rather be, and I can’t fathom the fact that someday our little one will grow up. Of course she’ll stay our baby forever! And no dating until she’s thirty.

And then there are times like thisCheese!
when I can see her little personality beginning to emerge, and I get so excited to get to know the person that she is becoming.

I’m so blessed.

  2. I remember wishing to freeze the clock and stay in baby-heaven with Melody. Now she is three years old and I can barely recall those early baby weeks!! It has gone by so quickly. I’m glad I wrote about them, as you are doing. Having written about it helps freeze it in a way. A good way.
