Yup, guys. That’s Prefessional with a capital “P” for ya’!
Yesterday I had the conflicting experience of selling one of my paintings. I say conflicting because, as an artist, it was quite exhilarating to witness someone liking my art enough to pay money for it. Also as an artist, though, it was kind of sad letting my “baby” go. I think I have gotten better at this over the years, but especially with the pieces that I really really like, it’s still kinda hard. Especially if I initially did the work “for me”, for the sake of the art, and didn’t start out knowing that it was destined to hang in someone elses house, or adorn another person’s project.
Mostly exhilarating, though. Especially since I think this person really did appreciate it, and we looked at some of my other art together, and she wanted me to save another piece for her to buy later! Yes. Definitely exciting.
In other news, my web guru and hubby is working on a redesign of this site. So if some links don’t work (I know for a fact that more recent sketches are not showing up in the portfolio section), that’s okay. It’s all part of the plan. Hopefully the redesign/reorganization will make it easier to navigate through the site, and help everyone to find what they are looking for. I’m hoping to have some “store” features, too, so people who want prints, or even the original art, can order more easily.
Anyhow, the redesign might take a while, since Brian is a pretty busy guy to begin with, and is kinda’ working on it between other jobs. So patience, please :u)
Anna’s Nest is the craft and tutorial website for me, Anna Warren. It’s also where I keep my blog. Enjoy!
