Salt On The Couch

First, let me say that this giveaway thing ROCKS! I love giving stuff away, and I love getting comments on my blog, so I'm pretty much loving this whole thing. To see who won, check out the original giveaway post. I'll be back tomorrow with my next giveaway, so don't forget to take some time to make some time in the middle of your Thanksgiving prep to check in!

Things around here have been a leetle bit crazy. About a week ago Bridget started "self weaning". I've heard that's what it's called, anyway. More specifically, she started biting whenever she nursed. Hard. Big Ouch! I was planning on beginning some kind of weaning process once she turned 12 months, but was hoping it would be more of a gradual process. As it is, it's been quite brutal, and a frustrating experience for everyone concerned.

This afternoon I was trying to get some time-sensitive things done on my Etsy Shop, and Bridget was being a bit fussy. Okay, a lot fussy. I fed her, I changed her, and I fed her again, and she was still fussy. I was really at my wit's end. On the couch beside me, she found a salt shaker on the side table and began gleefully shaking it, enjoying the "shika shika" sound it made. And getting salt everywhere. And I didn't stop her.

In fact, I kind of encouraged her, because it was so nice to hear something other than the general whining that had been filling my ears for over an hour (poor thing -- it's not her fault I know). So now there is kosher salt all over our couch. And I don't even care. Haha! We now own a well-seasoned couch!
